Violating Residence Permit, Singaraja Immigration Deports Foreign National from Turkey

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Singaraja Immigration Office in Bali has deported a Turkish foreign national for overstaying his visa by nearly eight months without a valid residence permit.

“The individual did not apply for an extension as required,” said Acting Head of the Singaraja Immigration Office, Anak Agung Gde Kusuma Putra, in an official statement on Monday (29/9/2025).

The Turkish foreign national, with the initials HY, was caught in a surveillance operation by officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Inteldakim) in Jembrana Regency (27/9), then he was taken to Singaraja for questioning because he could not show any immigration-related documents.

After being questioned, the 45-year-old man had been in the country for 235 days, or approximately eight months, without a valid residence permit after his previous permit expired at the end of January 2025.

HY finally packed his belongings to immediately leave Indonesia and return to his country via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Badung Regency, Bali.

According to Agung, HY violated Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration because he exceeded the residence permit granted.

“We will not tolerate any violations of residence permits, no matter how minor. Every foreign national who violates the rules will be processed in accordance with applicable laws, including deportation and prohibition from entering Indonesia,” he said.

He emphasised that visa or residence permit extensions can be done well in advance of expiry through the online system provided by the Directorate General of Immigration.

Through evisa.imigrasi.go.id or the Molina application, foreigners are given convenience in processing visas and residence permits.

For example, in Bali there are three immigration offices, namely Denpasar, Ngurah Rai and Singaraja.

The Denpasar Immigration Office covers the working areas of Denpasar City, Badung Regency, namely the northern part of Badung in the sub-districts of Abiansemal, Mengwi and Petang, then Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, Bangli Regency and Tabanan Regency.
