Buleleng - At the art performance on the stage of Semarak Malam Berbangga in the series of Singaraja City's 420th Anniversary events, Sekeha Gong Kebyar Wanita from the Jagratara Art Studio impressed the audience at Singaraja's Bhuana Patra Square on Friday (29/3/2024).
The 30-person Sekeha Gong Kebyar Wanita from the Jagratara Art Studio of Kalisada Village, Seririt Subdistrict, was compactly dressed in white traditional clothing. Gracefully, they carried three instruments to accompany two dances, namely Tani Dance and Sandya Githa Dance.
Met backstage at the performance, the founder and coach of Jagratara Art Studio, Ketut Aryawan, said that 'Jagratara' means ambitious to build ideals despite many challenges or difficulties. The group, which was formed in July last year, has more than 80 members, with three music coaches.
According to Aryawan, there were challenges when he formed Gong Kebyar Wanita. "With determination and discipline in training the sekeha, starting from time discipline, training discipline, and following the rules of the studio, I am optimistic that this sekeha will continue to exist in the future, and that is the basis for convincing their parents," he said.
Furthermore, Aryawan explained that the Sekeha Gong Kebyar Wanita in his studio has been asked to be the Buleleng Ambassador at this year's Bali Arts Festival (PKB). Thus, the current performance is a testing ground for later performances at the PKB.
Aryawan hopes that the children of the current generation will love Balinese art by learning in a studio or anywhere so that Balinese art is preserved, avoiding negative activities. (MC Buleleng Regency/wd)
