Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy: Tri Hita Karana is an Important Capital for Regenerative Tourism Development in Bali

Gianyar - Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency,  Angela Tanoesoedibjo revealed that the manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy is the main capital in an effort to succeed the development of regenerative tourism in Bali.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Angela at the launch of a Cultural Exhibition entitled Water Civilization at Tirta Empul Temple, Bali, Wednesday (3/4/2024) said that the expected future direction of Indonesian tourism is regenerative tourism, a concept that also accommodates sustainable tourism.

"When we talk about sustainable tourism, the focus is on doing less harm. But when we talk about regenerative tourism, we want to do more good," Angela said.

This means that the presence of tourism is not only an economic source, but more than that. Tourism is present as a source of driving life for all. Seeking the welfare of local destinations, the environment, and the people in it.

This is in line with the Balinese principle of life regarding Tri Hita Karana, which builds a harmonious relationship between humans with God, with others, and with nature.

"So before we recognize the concept of regenerative tourism, Bali has already embraced this concept of Tri Hita Karana," Angela said.

With this in mind, Quantum Temple in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Wonderful Indonesia, Manukaya Let Village, Gianyar Regency Tourism Office and Sui Network presented a blockchain-based cultural exhibition entitled "Water Civilization" at Tirta Empul Temple, a UNESCO world cultural heritage site.

"It's amazing that there is a blockchain technology-based platform to support regenerative tourism. We know the younger generation is adaptive to technology," Angela said.

The "Water Civilization" exhibition, which runs from April to September 2024, offers a unique experience for tourists while adding insight into Tirta Empul Temple.

Of course, the exhibition involves 300 young people and creative communities who contribute to creating unique and interesting installations made of bamboo.

The installation was led by two young artists from Tampak Siring, Ida Bagus Nyoman Surya Wigenem and I Gusti Ngurah Dalem Rahmadi.

In this installation, visitors can enjoy digital archive exhibitions from time to time so that they know more about the essence of water in Balinese civilization to the history of Tirta Empul Temple.

Visitors are also given the opportunity to talk directly with temple preservationists from Manukaya Let Village to gain in-depth knowledge about the spiritual meaning of melukat activities.

"Of course we hope that this does not stop here, but that more and more are accommodated in this platform. And even not only in Bali but throughout Indonesia," Angela said.

Quantum Temple CEO and Founder Linda Adami revealed that her party has a mission to bring regenerative tourism by involving local communities through leading-edge technology. So that the impact obtained is recorded transparently.

"We hope this initiative can be impacted by current and future generations," Linda said.

Quantum Temple is a web 3.0 platform that introduces and preserves cultural heritage around the world including Indonesia through blockchain technology in the form of NFT (Non Fungible Token).
